As indicated in our note earlier this week, we have an update regarding the Courtyard.
We are pleased to share that the Courtyard will be receiving a ‘facelift’ over the next few months! Although we have enjoyed the space over the years, it like many things that age, requires some attention. The intent of the project is to retain the special elements that are currently in the Courtyard like the fountain, while transforming the area into a space that is inviting and welcoming. It will become the heart of the church property.
This project was initiated by Fr. Bryan. His vision is to create a space that is beautiful and full of life. A place that everyone will want to gather and linger in the peaceful surrounding. A place where we could go to any time of day and enjoy a few moments of tranquility, meet with friends or enjoy fellowship after Mass. The theme that was chosen for the project is Radiance. As we are the community of Blessed Sacrament, we have the Eucharist as the center of our lives. Our Chapel Monstrance, with its beams radiating from the center, was our guide for the design of our courtyard. As life and love radiate from the Blessed Sacrament, our new courtyard will radiate life with the beauty of nature.
Thru a competitive procurement process, a reputable contractor was selected who has provided an exceptional design that will ensure that the intent of the project is met. The concept is attached. The funds, from a donor, were requested to be used for campus improvements and maintenance.
The project will begin during the week of September 20th and is scheduled to be completed early November, which will be a beautiful time to enjoy our new outdoor space! Special care will be taken to ensure safety and minimize disruption during construction. It will be exciting to see the transformation from week to week.
