FAITH FORMATION STARTS IN OCTOBER
K-6th Grade will meet twice a month on Wednesdays, starting October 6th.
7th-8th Grade will meet twice a month on Sundays, starting October 10th.
High School will meet twice a month on Sundays, starting October 10th.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Liturgy of the Word for Children is a program in which the Sunday scripture readings are proclaimed and explained on a level appropriate to children in grades

pre-K – 2nd at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. Adult volunteers are needed to lead scripture readings, reflection, and prayer.

Teen volunteers are needed to help the adults and facilitate discussions. All training will be provided and volunteers will work on a rotating basis. Please contact Miriam Tipley at miriam.tipley@sttheresa.cc or 346-335-1808, if you'd like more information on helping with this important ministry.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Sharing your faith with the youth is one of the greatest joys of being Catholic. We are currently needing faith formation teachers for K-high school for the 2021-2022 school year. No experience is necessary, training will be provided, flexible schedules. Our goal is to create a community of faith for the whole family by supporting our teachers and creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. Not comfortable teaching? THE LAST AND SERVANT OF ALL

War and division are the consequences of sin. Our pride, envy, greed, and lust all try to dominate us for control. Disorder runs deep and it can be tempting to despair.

BUT the Good News is that God still has a plan for our lives and he sent Christ to provide us with his body as spiritual food and to show us the path forward through humility (not pride) that diffuses and disarms our self-centered egos. "The fruits of righteousness is sown in peace," St. Paul says, "for those who cultivate peace."

TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO SERVE OTHERS

St. Theresa will be volunteering at the Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen on
Friday, September 24th, and Friday, October 8th.

Volunteers will help prepare and package a hot meal and then distribute about 300 to-go boxes to the homeless. Volunteers are still limited to 8 per shift and must be 15 years or older.

PARISH COUNSELING SERVICES
Larry Freeney, Jr. is a Licensed Professional Counselor completing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Sam Houston State University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Christianity (2014), and a Master of Arts in Counseling (2016) at Houston Baptist University.
In partnership with Rejoice Counseling Apostolate, Larry is now serving St. Theresa’s as a Parish Counselor. He will help our engaged couples prepare for marriage, offer a variety of support groups throughout the year, give presentations, and support Fr. Phil in his pastoral care of parishioners. Congratulations to Father Italo Dell"Oro, C.R.S., on his appointment as Houston Auxiliary Bishop. Please keep him in your prayers as he is starting this new call of service.

Bishop-elect Dell’Oro has served as a priest for almost 40 years, 30 of those in the local Archdiocese. Since 2015, he has served as Vicar for Clergy and the Secretariat Director for Clergy Formation and Chaplaincy Services. He was named Vicar General in 2021.
