We have power! I was in the rectory earlier this evening when I noticed that the familiar hum of the natural gas generator had ceased, yet my lights were still working. Then the Entergy crew knocked on the door and let me know that they had been able to restore the power. What a blessing!
Due to the fact that the power was restored so late today, our special Mass schedule will still be in place with the addition of a 10 a.m. English Mass. I am hopeful that we can return to our regular Mass schedule the following weekend. Here is the full schedule for this weekend:
- Saturday: 4 p.m. Vigil Mass (English)
- Sunday:
- 7 a.m. (Latin)
- 8:30 a.m. (English)
- 10 a.m. (English)
These Masses will be inside the church, but they will still feel quite different. Because of the standing water in the nave of the church and the lack of temperature control for such a long period of time, the carpet in the sanctuary began to mildew and had to be removed. There is a significant amount of glue that makes it impossible to use our sanctuary, so we will have a special set up for Mass.
