Reflection
“If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” (MARK 9:35) Jesus teaches us that we are called to love one another. Love involves sacrifice. Sacrifice is a word that many of us don’t like to hear. We think it means that we must give up something that we want. However, the literal meaning of sacrifice is “to make holy,” from the words “sacer” = sacred and “facere” = to make. In other words, we make our lives holy by sharing our gifts in the service of God.

During the month of September we’ll continue to ask Liturgical Ministers to sign up to serve weekend Masses via SignUp Genius. This is a free program that we have been using to schedule Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers and Greeters.
For each weekend Mass we need 1 Lector, 2 Eucharistic Ministers and 4 Altar Servers and 4 Greeters. If you are a Liturgical Minister and see an opening below for the Mass you'll be attending, and if you are comfortable serving, you can sign-up by clicking the button below. The schedules are created two weekends at a time. THANK YOU!

Young Adult Theology on Tap
Theology on Tap is back! Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Compass Tavern in Worcester. Our speaker will be Fr. Lucas LaRoche. The topic will be "When Heaven Meets Earth: What Really Happens at Mass". Compass Tavern in located at 90 Harding St. in Worcester. Doors open for food and drinks at 6:30. The speaker will begin around 7pm. Open to all young adults ages 18-39.

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
We are excited to offer Level 1of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - a special program for little children ages 3, 4, and 5 at St. Mary’s this fall! Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori based religious education program that helps children develop a deep and loving relationship with, Jesus, the Good Shepherd. In keeping with Montessori principles of teaching, children learn through thoughtful play with hands-on materials. Classes will be held weekly on Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in a specially prepared learning environment called the “Atrium” in the pastoral center. Spaces are limited.
