Brothers:
I hope you are out enjoying this final Summer weekend. God has certainly blessed us with some beautiful weather to celebrate the end of Summer!
THANK YOU!!
Last Sunday, many of you pitched in and assisted with the St. James Parish Fest. I cannot thank you enough for all those who were able to attend and help with the set-up, the serving and/or the clean up. We cooked waaaay too many hot dogs, but I know the efforts you put forth was greatly appreciated.
Oh, by the way, some of the hot dogs we prepared were served to some hungry individuals as part of the St. Aloysius outreach that occurs each week.
MEN'S RETREAT
The St. James' Men's Retreat is just two weeks away. Scheduled from Friday evening, October 1, 2021, thru Sunday at Noon on October 3, 2021, the retreat will take place at St. Paul of the Cross (on the I-96 Service Drive just East of Telegraph).
This year's theme is "Bouncing Back: Living in Hope". Fr. Pat, Fr. Enno and Faith Offman could not have picked a better theme giving the last year and a half. The St. Paul Retreat Team promises a faith filled weekend with lots of rest and quiet time to listen to God's words. If you have never been on a retreat, this one may be a perfect opportunity to slow down and catch your breath from a hectic world.
You and your family's health are very important to the St. Paul of the Cross team, and they promised that all CDC, State of Michigan and Archdiocese protocols related to the Covid-19 virus will be followed during the retreat.
The retreat is $215 for the weekend which includes full meals. You can either pay $30 registration fee now, or the full amount if you want to reserve your place by clicking
here and visiting the St. Paul of the Cross website.
OUR LAST GATHERING RECAP
My apologies for not forwarding the presentation from our last meeting on Thursday Sept 9, 2021. Attached you will find a PDF version of the presentation.
You may notice that one of the topic from our Last Gathering was a Pasta! Pasta! Parish Dinner for October 30, 2021. We were asked if we could host one of our semi-annual dinners in conjunction with St. James' Religious Education group who are planning a "Trunk 'n Treat" event for our RE students.
Details are still being worked; however, we will move our October Gathering to Tuesday, October 7, 2021 at 7PM in the St. James' Disciples Room, to discuss the particular for the event.
I hope you can make our next meeting!
Have a blessed week!!
John Fitzpatrick
