RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY:
This Sunday, Oct. 3, is Respect Life Sunday. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its natural end, and at every point in between. Please continue to pray for a great respect of life in all of its forms and consider joining us for one of our upcoming Pro-Life events.
- ST. MARTHA LIFE CHAIN: Please join us Sunday, Oct. 3, 2-3:30 p.m., and stand in silent witness for life. Bring your families, coolers, and chairs as we pray for the unborn and their mothers. Location: Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Pkwy intersection (signs will be distributed in the old HEB parking lot closest to West Lake Houston Parkway) The event will occur rain or shine. - 40 DAYS FOR LIFE: The new Texas Heartbeat Law bans abortions once a heartbeat is detected, usually by six weeks of pregnancy. This is exciting news, but we must not relent in our prayers for an end to abortion. Early abortions are still being done in Texas, and your presence on the sidewalk of an abortion facility is needed more than ever. St. Martha parishioners will be praying for an end to abortion at Planned Parenthood on Friday, Oct. 29. Contact Peggy at peggyangelino@yahoo.com /832-233-0401 to schedule a time when you can come for one hour between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Oct. 29. Location: Planned Parenthood, 4600 Gulf Freeway.
