Thoughts for the Weekend:
This Sunday's second reading has a special message for us, especially for those who compare cold weather to that of sadder times:
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters,
about those who have fallen asleep,
so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose,
so too will God, through Jesus,
bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
(1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18)
When times are tough, even when the days and nights are equally dark and cold, our Lord is there to bring a light and a hope for us to hold onto. We never have reason to believe that the end of a season means the end of hope. This week, consider all of the ways you can let go of your sorrows and offer it up to God.
