However, I kept my commitment and before long, what did come to pass, was the peace that I felt when leaving the Chapel. During my hour, I began to share what was on my heart, just like I would when meeting with a close friend. Except, there was one very big difference. This friend, Jesus, died for me! There He was, hanging on the cross on the wall behind the Monstrance that held His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. He died for me and wanted to hear from me!
Some days I entered the Chapel with a joyful heart, but many times I poured out the sorrows in my life. But you know what I learned? Jesus, my Friend, was there to hear it all – the good, the bad and the ugly. He was not preoccupied with His own life. He was there to give me His unconditional love and attention.
So, after Lent was over, I easily decided to set up this time with my Friend every week. Yes, it is a commitment, but one that I look forward to and arrange my schedule around. I look forward to this time with my Friend. No matter what mood I am in going into the Chapel, I always leave with the true peace that only Our Lord can give to me.
I encourage you to sign up. He is waiting to hear anything that is on your heart. Yes, God knows everything, but He is anxious to hear directly from you and wrap you in His love.
