Dow and Midland High Homecoming Conflicts...
Good morning,
Several parents have asked me about what we plan to do on Sunday night given the recent announcement about the homecoming dances being moved to Sunday evenings for Dow on October 3rd and Midland High on October 10th. I understand this is a one year move because of COVID protocols. While this is not ideal for ANY of the churches or ministry programs in the area, we will adjust accordingly to offer options for parents and students.
For this coming weekend, the high school will meet from 9:30-10:45am in the newly set up high school youth rooms in the parish center. I will lead the high school students in an activity and discussion along with offering a breakfast for all high school students who are there. This timing will allow students to still meet, have the opportunity to sit together at the outdoor mass at 11:00, and still have time for prep, hair, makeup, and other appointments on the 3rd.
For the following weekend, October 10th, we will meet at the normal time, 6-8pm, in the youth rooms. I will again plan a large group lesson and activity for everyone present. I will also have pizza and pop available that evening.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to adapt at the start of this year! I will add this same announcement to the bulletin and to the regular Flocknote on Friday as two more reminders to the change for the next two weeks.
God Bless and have a wonderful week!
