OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH
During this Year of St. Joseph, each of us can find in him “an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble”. Joseph shows us how to say “yes” to life, despite our own fears, frailties, and weaknesses. Dear St. Joseph, you who were “able to turn a problem into a possibility by trusting always in divine providence”, help us to imitate your faithful trust and courage.

BLESSING OF THE PETS
We will be offering a Blessing of the Pets on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 am in honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi in the grass to the right of the Church. Please bring all pets on a leash or in their proper carrier.

LIFETEEN FALL FEST
All teens in LifeTeen are invited to a day of Fun "Fall Fest". Led by our own BEYOND teens, the day will be filled with games, food and a few special guests. A PRAYER TO ST JOSEPH, DEFENDER OF LIFE
Dearest St. Joseph,
at the word of an angel,
you lovingly took Mary into your home.
As God’s humble servant, you guided
the Holy Family on the road to Bethlehem,
welcomed Jesus as your own son
in the shelter of a manger,
and fled far from your homeland
for the safety of both Mother and Child.
We praise God that as their faithful protector,
you never hesitated to sacrifice
for those entrusted to you.
May your example inspire us also
to welcome, cherish, and safeguard
God’s most precious gift of life.
Help us to faithfully commit ourselves
to the service and defense of human life
—especially where it is
vulnerable or threatened.
Obtain for us the grace
to do the will of God in all things.
Amen.

OCTOBER - MONTH OF THE ROSARY
By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates the month of October to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. October also includes the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7).
The best way to celebrate the month is, of course, to pray the Rosary. The Legion of Mary - Mother of Mercy Praesidium is leading the Holy Rosary after the 12:00 pm/Noon Mass every Sunday in October. You are all welcome to join us as the Rosary is considered a powerful protection against evil, as well as the perfect prayer to bring peace to the world.

ARE YOU LOOKING TO GET INVOLVED AT ST. ANGELA MERICI?
We are in need of volunteers to help out as our ministries and activities get more active once again. At this time, we are specifically in need of help with:
Trunk or Treat - Organization, set up/take down, costume contest, etc
Wish Upon a Star - Nov/Dec service project collecting Christmas gifts for children
Parish Service Day - Help organize a day in January where parishioners are sent into community for service projects
Parish Community Event - Help organize parish events, such as Food Trunk Night
Mission Dinner Night - Help organize the dinner component of our parish mission in February
Parish Mission - Help with the parish mission in February with Fr. Leo Patalinghug

DISCERNMENT RETREAT: DISCOVERING GOD'S VOICE
The Archdiocesan Office of Vocations is offering a one-day silent retreat for young adults on St. Ignatius’ Rules on Discernment. Tools will be provided to confidently listen to God. Lunch and opportunities for spiritual direction are offered. Holy Name Retreat Center, Sunday, Nov. 7 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information and to register visit here.
TRAINING: MINISTERS OF CONSOLATION
Do you feel called to practice the Work of Mercy by comforting the sad? Do you want to go out to meet Jesus in those who are suffering? When we comfort others, we experience God's mercy in ourselves, feel useful in helping others, and grow in acceptance of our own grief.
The Archdiocesan Office of Family Life Ministry invites those who feel the call to be Ministers of Consolation to participate in this training. You will learn to accompany people who are suffering the loss of loved ones and you will receive tools and resources to start a Consolation Group in your parish. Learn more: https://cvent.me/8wKLxv
