Blessing of the Animals, Saturday October 9, 2021 @ 10:00 AM Please join us for a Blessing of the Animals. All animals great and small are welcome. Please arrive at 9:45AM to prepare for the blessing. The Blessing of the Animals begins at 10:00AM on the parish grounds, behind the parish center outside the youth room. Please have animals on leashes. Wearing of masks is encouraged, but optional. Refreshments will be available. Treats for the animals.
Trunk 'N' Treat, Saturday, October 30, 6-8 PM. Outdoors only, weather permitting / no rain date. Sponsored by St. Mary’s Youth Ministry & the Knights of Columbus. Hayrides offered. Register in advance and come @ 5:15 pm to park and decorate your vehicle, then hand out candy. RSVP Mrs. Rachel at rbittner@stmaryspylesville.org to register your vehicle! Candy bins will be in the vestibule of Church and in the Hall for pre-wrapped donations of Halloween candy to be handed out at Trunk ‘n’ Treat. Please donate a bag to help us supplement candy for the event.

Night at the Maze, October 16, 5:50 PM, Maple Lawn Farms, Middle and High School youth. Invite a friend. Cost is $12 pp, which includes maze fees, bonfire, hot dogs, smores, and drinks!!! We will be serving in North Haledon, New Jersey, the week of July 17-22, 2022. Work Camp is open to students ages 14 -17 in Middle or High School and to Young Adults. All students must have Worthy of the Call Training to volunteer, Anyone 18 or over must complete the online Virtus Child Protection Training w/substantial contact. Dare to Care Forms are available online, in the vestibule of Church or Youth Ministry Bulletin Boards in the Hall and Youth Room. To reserve your spot you need to return a completed Dare to Care Form with a $100 non-refundable deposit due by November 1. The total cost is $300.00. The LifeChain returns to Jarrettsville on Sunday, October 3 from 2:30-3:30.
Invite family and friends and join in solidarity to pray for the sanctity of life for unborn people. Parking is available at the Post Office on Rte 165 north of the Jarrettsville intersection and at Flowers by Bauer’s on Rte 165 south of the intersection. Park and walk the short distance to the intersection to stand and pray. LifeChain signs are provided.
40 Days for Life returns to Belair Beltway Plaza at 7600 Belair Road from September 22 to October 31. Whole Women’s Health, the abortion center we hope to close, is located in the back of the plaza. News from the Archdiocese of Baltimore
The Burial of Urns, All Souls Day November 2, 2021. The Office of Cemetery Management of the Archdiocese of Baltimore is providing a final resting place for those who were cremated but not yet buried. Since cremation has become an accepted practice, more families are choosing cremation though choosing not to bury at the time of cremation. The Archdiocese of Baltimore is providing an opportunity to bury the deceased in sacred ground at Holy Cross Cemetery (Ritchie Highway) for a reduced cost of $350. The urns will be in one vault which is sealed and buried. The grave is marked with the date of burial and the deceased’s name will be recorded in the cemetery’s records so that family and future generations may visit. Those hoping to participate in the November 2 burial, must be registered by October 15, 2021. For more info and details of registration contact Rev.
