Three Days until the IHM Life Chain on Sunday, October 3!
My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus,
The IHM Life Chain will take place THIS SUNDAY from 1:00 – 2:00 (following the 12:00 Mass).
The event will give you, your family and your friends the opportunity to Witness to the Dignity of Human Life, in the face of legalized abortion, by a silent presence through holding signs on the sidewalk along Post Road.
Tables will be set up in the SOUTH Parking Lot to distribute signs. Please take a sign and cross Post Road at the crosswalk, obeying the traffic light, and proceed north or south along the sidewalk on the West Side of Post Road. (Sidewalk length is very limited on the East Side.)
Stand ONLY ON THE SIDEWALK and not on any grass or road surface. Spread out and stand 10 to 20 feet apart for optimal Life Chain impact. Please make it a prayerful time as you witness with your sign.
We expect participants from the Knights of Columbus, other Catholic parishes, members of Evangelical and Baptist churches as well as some members of the Hispanic community who attended the Westchester 40 Days for Life rally at IHM this past Saturday.
The Life Chain organization has a Code of Conduct that will be available at the sign distribution table and can be reviewed below.
Monday, October 4th, is the Memorial of Saint Francis of Assisi. Please join us at 3:00pm and again at 3:15pm, in the school/north parking lot near the Blessed Mother Statue for the Blessing of Animals.
In addition to the local gathering of Catholic Young Adults at Annunciation Parish the third Wednesday of the month, there is also a monthly gathering at St. Patrick's Cathedral!
The next Archdiocesan Young Adult Gathering will be next Wednesday, October 6th at 7:30pm. Confessions and Adoration are available at 6:30pm.
A Social will follow the Mass.
Have a blessed Friday!

Life Chain “Code of Conduct”
Let us enter the Life Chain in a prayerful spirit. Life Chain is not a rally or celebration. We stand against a horrible evil, holding Pro-Life signs and our spirit and countenance should bear witness to this fact. Let us also express as best we can, the love and forgiveness found in our Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for standing up for Life, for defending the “weak and the fatherless,” and for maintaining a prayerful spirit. Please do not dwell on the traffic. It will take care of itself.
Let’s be humble yet bold in our obedience to God, recognizing our stand is for the children, their mothers and other relatives, and for our nation’s preservation.
In the spirit of Christian love, let’s commit to be peaceful, prayerful and polite in both word and deed. Any misconduct from passersby should be met with silence and a kind “smile” to express our inner peace and forgiveness.
To acknowledge motorists who support our Life Chain, kindly respond with a friendly facial expression and not with a verbal or animated response. Our sincerity will be a powerful witness, in keeping with our signs. Prayer with eyes closed is the best response.
Please help others especially mothers with small children and seniors carrying chairs. Please pick up trash nearby before departing.
Please
- Give immediate passage to all pedestrians
- Stand back from the street, on the sidewalk
- Do not extend your sign beyond the curb
- Use crosswalks and do not hold up traffic
- Small children only should eat or drink during the Life Chain
- Please take care of your sign so that it can be used again to help save babies
