During the month of November, we have the opportunity to reflect our gratitude- to God, family, and friends. Let that "Attitude of Gratitude" inspire you- to get involved with a service opportunity, or with our food drive. Just so you know, our office will be closed next week, Wednesday-Saturday, due to the Thanksgiving Break, and we will not be having daily mass. All masses resume on Sunday, 11/26

Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier Throughout the month of November, we will sponsor a food drive for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Stop our offices to pick up a brown paper bag and return it by Sunday, Nov. 26 to donate it to the food pantry who partners with over 160 organizations such as food pantries and other hunger relief programs to provide aid to those in need.
Compline Concert Thurs. Nov. 30 at 8:30 The Anabel Taylor Chapel Choir will host a concert on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 8:30 pm at Anabel Taylor Hall, with cookies to follow. We'll be performing Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols (with harp and voices!), as well as a brand new commission!
Cornell Catholic will be sending a group of students to the annual
March for Life in Washington DC. We will be taking a bus leaving Ithaca on the night of Jan 18th, arriving in DC in the morning for the march, and will be back by midnight on the 19th. This is before the spring semester starts and will be a great opportunity to support the unborn. Anyone who is interested in going to the March for Life rally in Washington D.C. on Friday, January 19th should contact Pat Gillick (pjg233).
Service Opportunity: Friends of Farmworkers is a club on campus that provides consistent ESL instruction to area farmworkers who know little or no English. This greatly improves farmworkers quality of life as it allows for great self advocacy in the workplace and community involvement. If you are interested in this service opportunity, contact Victoria Begley
vcb9@cornell.eduOur upcoming
Grad Student LOGOS meeting will discuss the nature and implications of sex and gender. This topic is a broad, confusing, and sensitive one. We will not complete this discussion in a single session. Attendees should bring any helpful resources they may find. Scientific, theological/philosophical, sociological, or other scholarly resources are especially useful if you have the training to interpret them. We hope to come to better appreciate the Church’s teachings and understand the many ideas and experiences being discussed around us - or at least generate more informed questions to ask next time! Some summaries and interviews detailing the various ideas and experiences around gender found in society today:
-National Geographic
special issue for January 2017 (available online through the Cornell library)
