We celebrate Thanksgiving next week. Let turkey, Black Friday, football, and—oh, my—Christmas decorations all take a back seat to focusing on being truly thankful for all that you have.
I read recently that if your household income exceeds $32,400 per year, you are in the top 1% of the world’s wealthiest people. That includes virtually all of us. Thankfulness is the remedy to criticism and complaining. We have so much in this country, and we have Jesus, too! Our lives should be a continual song of thanksgiving.

This week, our study turns to Matthew 6.12: “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” We are going to be spending some time looking at a parable Jesus gave us regarding unforgiveness in Matthew 18.21-35. I would encourage you to take some time to read and ponder this incredible story.

Pat Garmire will be leading worship on Sunday here at The Ridge for the last time (at least, last time as our worship director). Please shower Pat and Lori and their kids with love and appreciation. I am personally so thankful not only for what he and Lori have brought to The Ridge in their giftings, but for their willingness to stay on through this pastoral transition.
We will pray over this wonderful family and send them off with our blessing at the end of the service.
Have a blessed and thankful week!
Pastor John
