St. Marks Sunday School
Our program will kick off on Sunday October 17 at the 5pm service. We will be meeting twice a month at the Sunday evening service that also has dinner.
The program we are using this year has a focus on exploring values and ethics using short clips from Disney and Pixar as well as fun craft projects. At the first meeting we will watch a Pixar clip about a bully named JJ stealing toys from other children. Our craft project will be to kick off our Kindness Rock Project.
For those children attending in person we have set up Bryans room as a Covid safe space, the room is off limits for all other uses. We will be offering our program online for those interested following the in person meeting. If you would like more information about the program please reach out to John Lyga.
We will continue meeting on Sundays after the 5 pm service to work on building our rockets with a launch planned for late October at Ross Farm. Videos are posted following the session to allow those who could not attend to build. For help with building your rocket or just general information, contact John Lyga.
Curbing Hunger Donation
Donate All Year
Donations of non-perishable food are accepted throughout the year and delivered to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County for distribution to county families in-need. Residents can place non-perishable items in a plastic bag and mark it “food” with a permanent marker and leave the bag at the curb with their recyclables for collection on their regularly scheduled pickup days and/or donate canned goods at Somerset County’s First Saturday Drop-Off events.
Monetary Donations: Checks can be made payable to Curbing Hunger, Inc. and mailed to 140 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
And, of course, you can always bring your food donations to the office or link.
Donations to Altar Guild
Fresh flowers are always a welcome site on Sunday mornings. For many years we have kept the price of one vase at $30 and two at $60. Given the rising costs of, well everything, we will be increasing the flower fee - $35 for one, $70 for both. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Please contact the office if you would like to dedicate altar flowers in memory or celebration of a loved one.
