Hello, Everyone!
This will literally be a Thanksgiving letter!
Thank you so much for attending Parent/Teacher Conferences. It was great to get questions, suggestions & feedback from you about your child! Growing & learning with 3 year old's
is team work!
Our Book Fair was a success!
Thank you if you took the time to look at or chose to buy a book! These purchases gave our little school some bonus dollars to add new titles to our library.
And of course
thank you for all the snacks provided last and this week.
I believe this group has learned a lot about pumpkins!
Now we know :
Pumpkins are not the same size, color or shape.
While reading a pumpkin story we learned: behind every ridge on the pumpkin is a row of seeds! The more ridges - the more seeds! - of course children counted seeds & picked them up with tweezers.
Pumpkins had golf-t's pounded into them.
Pumpkins were decked out with Mr. Potaoe Head limbs etc.
Pumpkin seeds were all over our floor after we cut open a mini pumpkin,a dried gourd & a green gourd. One has to check these things out, right?!
Several of us want to know: What does a white or green Pumpkin look like inside? Are they white or green? Or are they "just orange" like their orange cousins?
Pumpkins can be stacked & rolled. Pumpkins can be fun to create art with!
And of course one can cook "stuff with them". Baking Pumpkin cookies will be the ending activity with Pumpkins!
You may wonder why a big cowboy boot is sitting on our counter in the classroom.
Well, a young boy named Brody (Mrs. Scheetz's nephew) is in need of cheering up & help! This 11 years old is battling cancer! Chemo Therapy was not enough to help Brody in his fight with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. In September doctors recommended to remove Brody's leg from the knee down.
Our boot is making the statement:
Give Cancer the Boot! Each classroom is challenged to fill the boot with money. The money will help defray cost incurred by the family taking him to treatments & purchasing meals; it'll help buy gift cards for gas, groceries etc. Will you help fill our boot, please?
Thank you for a caring heart!
When the class fills up their boot, they have permission from the teacher to do " a pie in the face" at prayer time!
One more thing: Even though it is cold, there will be time to play outside. Please, be sure you bundle your child up in warm coat, hat & mittens!
Thank you!Mrs. Mac & I are looking forward to more fun in learning with your child!
