Hey Future Saints!

Join us on Thursday, October 7th from 6:00 to 6:45pm on the walkways into the high school for a pep walk dedicated to you - our future Saints. Representatives from each fall activity are ready to meet you, sign autographs, take pictures and provide you with some sweet treats and Xavier swag. (Please make sure to bring a sack to put the goodies in)

After the pep walk, feel free to join us in the Ron Thillen Gymnasium for our pep rally starting at 7:00!

FRIDAY

We have a big day planned for Friday, our last day of Homecoming 2021. Please see below for a listing of all events and information needed to ensure you are prepared and understand the days happenings.

Dress Code

The dress code for Friday is spirit day. This means students should be in a St. Matthew, Regis or Xavier shirt with any comfy bottoms. Shorts are approved for one more week, after October 15th, students must be in long pants.

Tailgate Lunch

Students will be enjoying the originally planned menu of grilled hot dog on a bun, broccoli trees, grateful grapes and cheddar sun chips outside in the main parking lot. Many thanks to Janessa, Chelsea, June and Gabe for this awesome idea. Thankfully the weather is going to be great outside as well. Make sure to ask your student about their tailgate lunch on Friday!

Day of Service

St. Matthew students (JK-5th grade) will be completing a day of service this Friday October 8th from 1:30-3:00PM. We are requesting the assistance of those who are able to give of some time or if you are able to lend us some equipment for the clean-up (rakes, shovels, brooms, wheelbarrows.) Please see the sign-up below to indicate how you can assist us in this endeavor.

Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten: pick up trash around the campus
1st and 2nd Grade: pull weeds around the campus and lay mulch at the main entrance
3rd Grade: clean up the school, especially the lockers
4th and 5th Grade: lay mulch on the playground

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Just a reminder that parent-teacher conferences are quickly approaching. Please make sure to mark your calendars for these very important dates:

Thursday October 21st: 1:00-7:00PM
Tuesday October 26th: 4:00-7:00PM

A sign up will shared with you next week. All conferences will be in-person at St. Matthew; we look forward to welcoming you back into the building for these very important conversations.

Rainbow Olympics

Even though Rainbow Olympics is in the distant future, here at St. Matthew students meet in their rainbow teams on a monthly basis for various service projects. On these days, we encourage students to wear their rainbow olympics shirt; each team has its own color.

What you need to know about rainbow olympics shirts:

Purchasing shirts through the web-store at the link below is open now through Sunday October 17th. This is your only option to purchase shirts (this site will not be open this spring)
St. Matthew has a number of gently used shirts that will be out on STEM night for you to peruse and take
You do not need to purchase the rainbow olympics shirt in the web-store, any shirt in your child's designated color works just fine
