Greetings Church Friends and Family,
Have you ever wondered what the words that come out of your mouth may sound like? What do your conversations sound like? If someone had to follow you around, recording your conversations, and then play it back to you, what would it sound like? Would you feel comfortable having it published online as part of a blog or expose? Do you say uplifting and positive things, or does it all crumble due to the things you say? Have you noticed, or do you maybe need to pay special attention to this week?
Everyone has to evaluate it for themselves. You need to listen to yourself and consider asking yourself after the fact if this is something you can feel proud of. Maybe it’s something you need to work on?
There are stories in scripture of the writer’s mouths being touched by an angel. They would often talk about how God’s followers should carefully consider their words; that is, you and me. We can pay attention to what the Bible writers say about the tongue because our whole life consists of words. It is these words that we pass on to the next generation. With your words, your comments, you can make someone love the things of the Lord or alienate them entirely from them.
Pay attention to, and notice what you say, and prayerfully endeavor to speak words that bring life to the hearer.
“21The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”(Prov 18:21 NIV)
Children’s Sabbath School will be resuming here at our Lewisville Campus on Saturday, November 6, 2021. We are gearing up with excitement to have our families return with your children. Watch this space for who you can obtain digital copies of the current and upcoming lessons via Apps and email etc. to start preparing yourself and your children.
Sermon this week by Dr. Tom Grove: Living The Focused Life
Scripture: Luke 9:51, NIV - “As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.”
Throughout his whole life, Jesus was never hurried or harried. Every moment of every day was focused on living out His mission. As part of living the abundant life, we, too, are to live out our mission.
Covid-19 has hit us really hard, and as major bills are coming due, and we are attempting to buy Cameras and other AV technology needed to keep providing ministries, while still keeping the lights on, please consider your church here in Lewisville as you plan your giving.
