Parish Leadership
ln March 2021, Father Dan and the combined Pastoral Council approved the formation of a new Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) to be seated in January 2022. The new PPC plan brings St. Catherine Labouré Parish in line with the Diocesan direction to establish a laity led and populated council to replace the advisory Pastoral Council model.
Objective: PPC Plan that specifies the purpose, membership, member obligations, committee formation, and parish oversight. Specifically to:
- Promote lay leadership and participation in all aspects of parish life
- Replace the current Pastoral Council (advisory model) with a PPC (lay engagement model)
- Provide framework where the laity becomes involved in all aspects of parish life and oversight
- Creates lay committees that implements the vision provided by the PPC
- Bring the parish vision to reality
The new PPC shall consist of 12 lay members and 2 senior staff members as follows:
- 3 current PC members serving a 1-year term and 3 current PC members serving a 2-year term.
- 3 new members to serve a 3-year term & 3 new members to serve a 4-year term
- Going forward, 3 members will be selected each year replacing the 3 members whose terms expire
- New members will be selected after a discernment process and installed at a Mass each January
PPC will meet a minimum of 6 to 8 times a year. PPC will oversee the following laity populated committees:
- Worship
- Discipleship (Faith Formation, Evangelization and Missions)
- Outreach t Hospitality & Fellowship
- Communication/Public Relations
- Planning
