The Pray for Dobbs ecumenical prayer campaign emerged together with National faith leaders from varying Christian denominations. They are calling people of faith nationwide and across denominations to unite in prayer and fasting.
A simple website is in development to serve as the touchpoint for all the denominational partners: prayfordobbs.com. In addition to the current content, website visitors will be able to sign up for periodic updates and access additional resources.

We are pleased to make available the 33rd Annual Archdiocesan Respect Life Essay Contest information. This year’s theme is Our Lady of Guadalupe: Patroness of the Americas and of the Unborn. Download contest documents and get more information in English or Spanish above.
The Respect Life Office suggests to introduce the material during one of the following key dates: The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe December 12, anytime in October 2021 during Respect Life Month, or during the other Respect Life Month on January 2022. The Second Vatican Council remains controversial in some Catholic circles. Many people see it as involving a radical break from the Catholic past, for good or bad. Others, such as Popes since the Council, see it as a renewal and reform of the one-and-the same Catholic Church. The Online Pastoral School of the Archdiocese of San Francisco is pleased to invite Mark Brumley, a former staff apologist at Catholic Answers, to offer an online course on this subject. This is a mini-course covering the main teachings of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). It also examines how the Council’s teaching has been received, misperceived, and resisted, as well as how it has shaped Catholic life and mission in the last half-century. We ask for a donation, but no one will be turned down for inability to pay. Register above.

On November 6 at 10 a.m. at San Francisco's iconic Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, we gather together to pray for and with the homeless of San Francisco: We pay our respects to, and pray for the souls of, all our brothers and sisters who died on the streets this past year, in San Francisco and beyond: high and low, rich and poor, we gather to bow our heads in sorrow for the equal dignity of every human soul. Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone commissioned this solemn new Requiem Mass for the Homeless in the high sacred music tradition from Benedict XVI Institute's composer-in-residence Frank La Rocca. Richard Sparks conducts the premier Benedict Sixteen Choir. James Matthew Wilson, Benedict XVI Institute's poet-in-residence composed a new Litany for the Patron Saints of the Homeless. A new painting "The Patron Saints of the Homeless" by San Francisco native Bernadette Carstensen, Benedict XVI's painter-in-residence, will be set up as a temporary shrine in the Cathedral of St. Mary to encourage devotion on behalf of the homeless. Together, they will create the solemn beauty that reminds us of the equal dignity of every human soul before the God who loves each one of us. Join us for an evening of respect, equal dignity, and spiritual healing that will help each of us to see the face of Jesus Christ in all of us, but especially those in greatest need.
