Dear Parishioners,
Hope you all are well! A few reminders and news for the coming months --
First, a reminder that there is no Adoration tonight in the church, as it is Columbus Day, nor on Monday, October 25, as I will be away that day (I will be away Oct 22-26 for an out-of-state wedding). Below however is a new Adoration sign-up for these fall months. Please remember that when we are generous with the Lord, He is always more generous toward us!
Secondly, I have begun planning a talk and retreat for the fall, with some others in the works:
- Friday, October 29, at 7pm, Fr. Basil Cole, O.P., will give us a talk on Spiritual Warfare and Our Lady and the Angels. If you've ever wanted to learn more about angels, demons, and how Mary intercedes for our souls, this is the talk for you! There will be time for questions and answers afterwards. Fr. Cole is a noted writer and moral and spiritual theologian.
- Saturday, November 6, from 9am-12pm, Fr. Gabriel O'Donnell, O.P., will lead us in another half-day retreat, this time on St. Joseph and his guardianship of the Church and our spiritual life. The day will begin with Mass at 9am, followed by a bagged breakfast, and then two talks with Adoration and Confessions available. Fr. O'Donnell is also a professor of spiritual theology and teaches classes on prayer and spiritual direction.
Thirdly, I am planning on having Fr. Cole back in late November-December to lead us in an Advent parish mission. Fr. Cole will preach at most Sunday Masses while he and I also offer extra times of Confession, preparing us to be ready to receive Our Lord more deeply this Christmas.
More details will be on the way as we approach these dates, but I wanted to give you enough time to save the dates in your calendar. And remember the Adoration sign-up below!
