As another way to assist Catholics in entering into this Year of St. Joseph and the Eucharist, St. Angela Merici is participating in a traveling Novena to St. Joseph October 18-27. Each evening will begin with Confession from 5-5:45 p.m. followed by Mass at 6:00 p.m. with the exception of Saturday, October 23 when Confessions will take place from 9-9:45 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m.
The Litany of St. Joseph for the Church persecuted, as well as prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, will be recited at the conclusion of each Mass so that the faithful have an opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence. We hope to see you there!
During the 2021 #iGiveCatholic Campaign we are hoping to raise $100,000 to purchase a new organ for our Church sanctuary. This is a much-needed upgrade that will greatly enhance our liturgical experience. As the first part of this process, we are seeking generous parishioners, businesses, or foundations willing to become a matching donor. By matching parishioners’ donations dollar to dollar up to a certain amount, your donation will play a crucial part in enabling St. Angela Merici to meet its 2021 fundraising goal. Gifts can be made publicly, anonymously, or in the name of a deceased loved one.

The month of October is traditionally dedicated to the Rosary. This all started in 1571 when the Ottoman Empire sought to conquer all of Europe. The Turks had already successfully overcome the Middle East as well as the Islands of Crete and Cyrus. Italy was next and the situation seemed dire. With battle quickly approaching Pope Pius V urged the faithful to join him in seeking Our Lady's protection through her powerful prayer--the Rosary. Every soldier fighting in the Catholic League entered battle carrying a rosary. And despite being hopelessly outnumbered, they miraculously defeated the enemy at what became known as the Battle of Lepanto.
In thanksgiving for Mary’s intercession and protection, Pope Pius V declared the day — October 7 — as a feast day for Our Lady of the Rosary. Later the entire month was dedicated to the rosary by Pope Leo XIII in 1884.
