7) O Sanctissima
Prayer booklets will be provided. Bring your rosary. Bring your family. Come and pray for America.
BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN
During Respect Life month, we distribute Baby Bottles and ask you to fill them with donations. Please take one after Mass today and return it at the end of October. Your donations will fund Respect Life activities at St. Columba, including donations to Birthright and CareNet here in Dutchess County. If there is a bus trip to the March for Life, it will also help with the cost. Thank you for your generosity.
LECTORS, EM’S AND SERVERS
We would be happy to put you back on the schedule – just contact Laura at the Parish Office – 227-8380.
Servers – Check in with deacon at sacristy. You will need to wear a mask during Mass. One server at a time for now.
Lectors – Check in with deacon upon arrival. Wear a mask if required by CDC and NYS. Join in the entrance and recessional. Remove mask to read. We suggest when you come up to read to first walk around and past the baptismal font and walk up and down the steps in front of the Blessed Mother. It is safer.
Extraordinary Ministers – Check in with the deacon upon arrival. Approach the Choir Communion Station after the priest receives Holy Communion. Remove your mask to receive. After receiving, put the mask back on and then purify your hands. Remind communicants if needed to remove masks before receiving. If you come in contact with a communicant, STOP, put the ciboria on the table and purify. When your section is done, come and help in the middle. Hand your ciboria to the priest when done. Purify again.
YOUTH GROUP SERVICE PROJECTS
APPLE PIE MAKING DAY is Sunday, October 17 at 2:30 pm in the school cafeteria. All teens welcome – bring a friend – the time can be used for service hours. Bring with you an apple corer and a peeler. We will try to make at least thirty pies. They will be donated to Meals on Wheels and delivered to their clients.
HOMELESS – Our Midnight Runs are still on hold, but we still want to help the homeless. Newburgh Ministries runs Winterhaven, and Hillcrest House in Poughkeepsie also cares for the homeless. They will be delighted to receive any of the following (due to COVID restrictions – NOTHING USED MAY BE DONATED AT THIS TIME): New Clothing for men and women, New Socks, New Underwear, New Tee shirts, New Winter Hats, New Scarves, New Gloves, New TRAVEL SIZED ONLY Toiletries: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, soap, comb, shave cream, razor, antiperspirant, shampoo – AGAIN TRAVEL SIZED ONLY. You may bring your donations after any Mass the weekends of November 7 & 14 – Bring to the Religious Ed Entrance to the school. Youth Group will meet at 3:00 pm on these days to sort and store the donations for delivery. All parishioners are invited to help us.
FUNERAL GREETER/USHER MEETING
We have a small group of dedicated volunteers that rotate attending funerals. They try to be helpful to families during this challenging time. Would you like to join their ranks? We are having a Training Session for experienced and new Funeral Greeters on Wednesday, October 20 at 10:00 am in church. No need to register – just come.
