Good afternoon, everyone! I hope everyone is well. I am sure we are all enjoying this very beautiful weather we are having. We are gearing up for a very busy Fall! On another note, I must tell you that on Monday, after I returned from my vacation, I made an error in my sort for my birthday wishes. So, everyone received a nice birthday wish from me. It was due to my "Brain Fog" that I had from all of my relaxation and fun I had on vacation. Sorry about that! Okay, so lots of things going on this weekend! Questions, please just let me know.

The Altar Server function is a very important and honored role. In assisting the Priest or Deacon, the Altar Server is, in a very special way, helping to offer the sacrifice of the Mass. This includes several tasks such as cross bearer, candle bearer and incense bearer. On special occasions, such as the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Bishop is assisted by Altar Servers, which is a very special honor. This ministry is for young people who have received First Holy Communion.
Normally, an Altar Server will be scheduled to serve at least once or twice per month (depending upon the number of servers available). However, they must be willing to serve if and when they arrive at Mass and there is a need for them to fill in.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, where we acknowledge those who have suffered through and survived it, and we work to assist women and men still in crisis.
The organization Catholics for Family Peace has provided a comprehensive resource toolkit related to these issues, with customizable safety fliers in English and Spanish, and documents on how to end violence in Catholic families.
On Thursday, November 11, at 11am, JPII will honor our veterans with a Mass followed by a Veterans Day presentation which will include the Posting of the Colors, an overview of Veterans Day, the Empty Table presentation, and a speaker. The event will finish with the playing of Taps. Please join us.
Suffering is an inevitable part of life. When suffering comes to us, let us accept it with a smile. This is one of the greatest gifts God has given us: the courage to accept with a smile whatever He gives, whatever He allows, whatever He takes.
