We will again have a school Ofrenda set up in the cafeteria this year. The tradition of an ofrenda is to remember and pray for loved ones who have passed away. This helps them, if they are still in purgatory, to get to heaven sooner, and if they are already with our Lord, it is a way of asking them to pray and care for us on our journey to heaven.
Please send in pictures of those loved ones in your child's life who have passed on so that we can add them to our alter. All pictures will be returned after the alter is taken down, so please be sure to put names on the back. Pictures do not need to be framed, we will have areas where we can tape them up as well, so a printed picture would be fine.
Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, takes place on All Souls Day on November 2nd. Fr. Carter has agreed to come bless our Alter on that day, so we would like to have all pictures by October 28th. Below is a picture of our last Ofrenda for reference.
