October is Respect Life Month. A single red rose on the altar represents the unborn child. Just like the unborn child, the rose conveys life, love and hope. Place donations for BirthRight Crisis Pregnancy Center and the Gabriel Network in collection baskets in the vestibule on the weekends of October 23-24 and October 30-31. We ask for a $10 donation per family, more if you are able, for this worthy cause.

COVID- 19 Reminder. If you test positive for COVID-19 after attending activities, including Mass, at St. Mary's, please contact the parish office. The Archdiocese requires us to notify those who attended the same activity of the potential contact. Your identity is protected during the notification process.
Blood Drive, Thursday, November 3, 1-6 PM. The American Red Cross and the North Harford Interfaith Community will again be hosting a blood drive at St. Mary’s Church, There is a critical need for blood of all types, especially Type O, for patients who are currently undergoing treatment for an illness or experience a medical emergency. The blood supply continues to remain low due to the pandemic.
Appointments are now available from 1 to 6 p.m. The Red Cross requests anyone who wishes to donate schedule an appointment while pandemic restrictions are constantly changing. Walk-ins are not being accepted at the present time. Staff is assigned to each location according to the number of donors on the schedule. Anyone scheduled to donate that day should do the online RAPID PASS on the day your donation to save time on the complete donation process.

Looking for Choir Members. We rehearse on Thursdays at 7 pm in the choir loft. Please contact Nicholas Zurowski at nzurowski@sjpray.org. No prior experience or ability to read music is necessary. The choir serves on Sunday during the 9:30 am Mass and on Feast Days. Come check us out!

Operation Christmas Child The shoe boxes are available in the church vestibule. National Collection Week is November 15-22. Filled shoe boxes may be brought to Church or dropped off at William Watters Church. (More information about drop off times later).
Please check the Samaritan’s Purse web site for the benefits to filling a shoe box online. Those shoe boxes are delivered to “closed” countries.

National Drug Take Back Day, October 23. The Citizens Volunteer Fire Company will be the local drop off location for southern PA residents. Prevention and Recovery Ministry
We have obtained another donation of the Deterra drug deactivation bags from Harford County's Office of Drug Control Policy. We will place several of the bags and a box of the DisposeRx units in the back of church. Please take some whenever you need them. Remember that both of these units can be used to safely dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications. We recently found out that these units can also be used to safely dispose of pet medications. For more information, take a look at deterrasystem.com and disposerx.com.

Worthy of the Call Training is for any of our teens who are 14 – 17 years of age and would like to volunteer for a ministry ie: (Altar serving, Sacristan, Lector, Usher, Music Ministry, Faith Formation Classroom Helper, VBS, Boy Scouts, Parish Events and Fundraisers, Outreach and Service Ministries). Any student 14 and older is welcome. Teens must complete this training to volunteer in Parish Events and ministries. Please email Mrs. Rachel. Night at the Maze, Saturday, Oct. 16 at Maple Lawn Farms, Cost is $12 pp, which includes maze fees, bonfire, hot dogs, smores, and drinks!!! Parents meet us at Maple Lawn Maze Entrance 5:45 pm and pick up at the Bonfire below entrance at 9:30 pm. Registration is closed.

Dare to Care Forms are available online, in the vestibule of Church or Youth Ministry Bulletin Boards in the Hall and Youth Room. To reserve your spot you need to return a completed Dare to Care Form with a $100 non-refundable deposit due by November 1. The total cost is $300.00.
