Hello beautiful ladies!
At our gathering two weeks ago, it was expressed to me that our current book Courageous Virtue was not very well liked by the members. I propose that we complete the third lesson of the book to give it one more chance and to see what we can glean from it. We will discuss the third lesson this Friday, December 1st and then I will leave it to the members to decide if you would like to finish the book on your own. The book does have answers to the questions in the back, so it should be pretty easy to complete. I got approval from Mike Gormley for Beyond the Birds and the Bees: Raising Sexually Whole and Holy Kids by Greg and Lisa Popcak and The Price of Privilege: How Parental Pressure and Material Advantage are Creating a Generation of Disconnected and Unhappy Kids by Madeline Levine. We will vote on which of these two books we will study next at the gathering on December 1.
On December 8, lets meet for the 9 am Mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The Blessed Mother was such a guide for us as we read our first book this year. Let's gather to pray for her intercession. We can sit together in the center-right section of the church towards the back. I will get there early.
On December 15 we will meet at our regular time for a Christmas lunch at Crust Pizza in Alden Bridge.
I am planning to schedule more opportunities throughout the month for us moms of school aged children to gather. I know Friday does not work for everyone and I miss seeing many of you! I will plan to add the St. Anne's Society Mass & Mixer, a day to meet for adoration, a coffee morning to discuss the readings for Sunday, and a pot luck lunch at my home to discuss Sunday's readings and for fellowship. Be on the lookout in January for notifications of new events!
May your families have a holy and joy filled Advent!!
Much love,
Emily
