Oct. 27, 2021
Greetings Church Friends and Family, I want to briefly share the mid-week Thought/Devotional with you, as we look at Romans 15:13. “13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” ESV
May God do something…so that something can happen to you…by or through… you know what? It sounds like a word puzzle!
But this is precisely what Paul wants to convey to the believers in Rome in this text. And for me, it's one of the key verses in Paul's letter to the Romans.
From the outset, it is clear that this text is about hope. God is identified as the source of not only this hope but all hope. As we have seen before (especially in Romans 8), hope is a powerful theme in Paul's Ministry; in his writings in particular.
The Believers are suffering, and they are subsequently encouraged not to lose hope. He tells them that they need to stay focused on God and His promises; their future is with God! And God himself is the source of hope without which they cannot live.
Well, what should God do for his children? He must fill them with joy and peace. These are the very things that suffer and fail as soon as one loses hope. As Christians, we must experience inner joy, an unquenchable joy, and a peace that transcends all understanding. And how does this happen? Through our faith in God's powerful presence in our lives. The small contribution we can make is to believe; in childlike dependence, reach out our hands to God, and trust Him unconditionally.
And what happens then? In addition to the joy and peace, we are strengthened in our hope by the powerful working of the Holy Spirit.
May God do it for you today!

Sermon
Sermon this week by Pr. Kevin Wells: Listening Heart: God has Won.
Scripture: “He will swallow up death forever, And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; The rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 25:8, NKJV)
Prayer Requests
Yes, we have several prayer groups that meet during the week, but some have expressed the need to be able to communicate prayer requests to bring before the Lord during our worship service, and they either do not attend in person at present or do not feel comfortable presenting their requests in person. This may also help us cut sometime during our service if we have the requests ready to go.
Please submit your prayer requests that you want to be prayed over during church service, to Pastor Eugene, 1. Via email (eugene@arlingtonadventist.com) or 2. Via Text Message or WhatsApp. (512.708.0600)
