Going Deeper
Looking for a chance to talk about our faith and religion on a deeper level? Do you have questions about the church or God? This is for you. Join Justin at Live Oak Coffeehouse the first 4 Wednesdays of December. This High School YM special session is for all high school students 9-12 grade. This four week session will focus on the "controversial questions" teens have about the church in an open discussion format.
It's Wreath Time!!
High School Outreach is selling our beautiful wreaths after all masses the next two weekends. We are offering a 22inch wreath for and a 32in wreath. Payment accepted at pickup on November 27-29.
Pasta Dinner!
November 6th is the Outreach Pasta Dinner from 5-7pm in the Parish Center

High School Room Needs!
The Sunday Night small groups have made their homes in the Parish Center. Now we want to spruce them up to feel home-like! If you have any couches, bean bags, or stools you find you no longer need or want, we can make a home for them! Please email me at justinr@blessed-midland.org and I will be happy to make arrangements to get the furniture to Blessed Sacrament. Thank you to families who have already donated furniture and bean bags!
MORE THAN 300 boxes and counting!
The Blessed Sacrament annual CEREAL COLLECTION is underway! We have a target of 800 boxes this year, but we would like to blow that out of the milk! Boxes are included in the Thanksgiving food baskets. Boxes can be dropped off in the Faith Formation office between now and November 18th. Our walls are already filling up! Thank you for supporting this wonderful outreach opportunity!
Music you should know!
As we go through this year, I will continue to introduce you to Christian music you may not know, or give you a chance to hear a song you may not have hear in a long time!
Matthew West is one of my go to Christian artists. I associate this song with confirmation and evangelization. But there is no better time to get up and do something about the love of God than right now. Spread love. After all, "we are never going to change the world by standing still."
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
The Synod
The bishops and the Church are set to begin the 2021-23 Synod. So what is a synod? You will hear much more about this in the coming months and year, but at face value, the synod is a gather of church leaders. The purpose of this gathering is to convene, listen, reflect, and ultimately proceed with the course of the church based on what has been discerned.
Think of the synod like this. We, the church (us), are all on a journey together. As we walk this journey, we find ourselves either in step with others in the church, or drifting apart. The synod affords us a chance to rejoin our steps.
As the process begins, let us pray for a strong, open process led by the Holy Spirit.
