Happy Friday!!
Wow, October is almost over! It's hard to believe our Carpe Diem lock-in is in TWO weeks on Friday, 11/12! Please mark your calendars!!
First are the important details, followed by what I need from you:
WHO: Carpe Diem and any St. Luke middle schoolers
WHEN: Friday, 11/12 5:45pm to midnight*
WHERE: Drop-off and pickup at St. Luke**
*The lock-in is currently scheduled from 5:45pm-12am (6.25 hours). In order for this to be an all-night event (until 8am), we need at least two moms and two dads willing to spend the night. The youth truly look forward to staying the entire night, so PLEASE prayerfully and seriously consider sacrificing one night for your youth(s)!
**I am excited to announce that we will play indoor mini golf at ParTee Shack (5300 Fayetteville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603)!! The cost is $10 per person (plus $4 dinner), and I need RSVPs by Wednesday, 11/10. I went recently (with friends and with Vita Nova), and it's super cool and super challenging. We're going to have a blast!! Parents, you are more than welcome to stay and play with us for $10!
Here is the flow of the night:
- Meet at St. Luke at 5:45pm to unpack cars, turn in permission forms, and organize carpooling for mini golf.
- Leave St. Luke no later than 6:15pm to arrive at ParTee Shack by 7pm. We have a room reserved for our youth group from 7-8pm.
- I will pre-order dinner, so please let me know orders by Thursday, 11/4!! Dinner is a slice of pizza (cheese or pepperoni) and a drink for $4. Please let me know if your child (or you!) would like more than one slice so that I can order additional pizzas for our group. I must have the order in by Friday 11/5. If you miss the deadline, dinner can be purchased there.
- We will begin mini-golf after dinner, around 7:30pm. Games take 1-1.5 hours, so we'll plan to be at ParTee Shack until around 9:15pm.
- You are welcome to meet us at ParTee Shack but must arrive by 7:30pm. Late arrivals will need to meet us at St. Luke at 10pm.
- Arriving back at St. Luke by 10pm, we will go into our normal lock-in routine of games (manhunt, sardines, etc.) and movies (if there's time).
- By Thursday, 11/11, I will let you know if this event will last until midnight or 8am. Parents, please, please, please consider staying all night! It doesn't mean staying UP all night! (:
Now that we've made it through the important information, here's what I need from you!
1. Permission Form!! Please return the attached permission form by the night of the lock-in. I will have extra forms at the event that you may fill out upon arrival.
2. If you are mini-golfing, this event is $10 per person. If you also pre-order dinner, the cost is $14 per person. You may bring cash/check night of, or you may pay via online giving [Youth Ministry Fees (CD & VN)].
3. Parents, please consider staying all night with us!! You are free to bring air mattresses or pads and go to bed whenever (after we come inside from manhunt)!!
4. For carpooling purposes, please let me know which option best suits your needs.
5. Last, but not least, a signup for the night! Please reply to this message to let me know who is coming and doing what (mini-golf, dinner, overnight, etc.). As always, please let me know if you have any issues or need to clarify! Youth are welcome to invite friends, as long as you are willing to drive/participate!
