Hi there, everyone! Here's our Father's Friday Flocknote for this week.
1) All Saints'/All Souls' Day: Just a reminder that while there will be Mass on All Saints' Day, Nov. 1st, because it falls on a Monday this year it is not a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass on Monday for All Saints' Day will be at 6:30 pm. Mass for our All Souls' Day Mass of Remembrance will be on Wed., Nov. 3rd @ 7:00 pm. There will not be any morning, 8:30 am Masses this week, due to Fr. Clyde being out of town.
2) Anointing of the Sick: This past weekend we celebrated the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick at the 9:00 Mass. We continue to pray for all those who were anointed. A reminder too that anyone who is preparing for serious surgery, struggling with a serious illness or a chronic condition, or those who are advanced in years can be anointed at any time. Just call up to the parish office to schedule a time with one of the priests. You can come to us or we can come to you.
3) Faith In Focus: For the past few weeks I've been recording what I've been calling a "Faith in Focus" video, answering some question of faith/explaining some teaching or belief of our faith. You can find the most recent one & the earlier ones at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74hstab0_Fs
4) Prayer of Remembrance: As we observe All Souls' Day, here is a prayer that we can pray for our deceased loved ones & parishioners.
I commend you, my dear [name] to almighty God, and entrust you to your Creator.
May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth.
May holy Mary, the angels and all the saints welcome you now that you have gone forth from this life.
May Christ who was crucified for you, bring you freedom and peace.
May Christ who died for you admit you into his garden of paradise.
May Christ, the true Shepherd, embrace you as one of his flock.
May he forgive all your sins, and set you among those he has chosen.
May you see your Redeemer face to face, and enjoy the vision of God, forever.
Have a Blessed Week!
Fr. John
