LUBBOCK- After much discernment and consultation, Most Rev. Robert Coerver, Bishop of Lubbock, announced that Father Wesley Beal will assume the role of Parochial Administrator of Holy Spirit Parish. The pastorate was vacant due to the sudden death of Father George Roney.
Effective October 1, 2021 Father Wesley Beal assumed the role of Parochial Administrator of Holy Spirit Parish. During spring of 2022 the Clergy Personnel Board intends to assess the situation at Holy Spirit Church and discern further the role of pastor at the Lubbock church.
During the upcoming months, Father Beal will be mentored in his role by Father Jose Kochuparambil, Rector of Christ the King Cathedral.
Father Wesley Beal will remain as Chaplain of Christ the King Diocesan High School.
“Let us pray for the faith community of Holy Spirit, for Fr. Wesley Beal, and for the repose of the soul of Fr. George Roney,” Bishop Coerver wrote in the announcement.
