O Lord our God,
may you give is the gift of hope
to lighten the darkness of the night,
may you give us the gift of peace
to lighten the anxieties of the busyness of life,
may you give us the gift of love
to share the Christmas joy with those around us,
and may you give us the gift of joy
to celebrate well the coming of your Son.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
