Hello, Faith-Filled Families!
I hope you are well and finding ways to enjoy our changing weather. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving with extended family and putting up Christmas decorations!
I apologize for the missing lesson in last week's email. If you ever need to track down a lesson they are all on the parish website; saintjamesnovi.org under Faith on the Go. But please still read these notes for updated information.
This Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King which always falls on the last Sunday before Advent. While our children are not familiar with being subject to a king, our lesson focuses on Jesus as our superhero and we have a fun activity to go with it.
I hope you get a sense of how Jesus is a superhero who is ready to help you with any problems or worries.
Thanksgiving Weekend: NO Lesson, but if you are behind that's a good time to get an extra lesson in.
Coming Up!
Sunday, Dec. 5th we will have an in-person Advent program for families in the parish hall from 10:30-1:30. There will be mini-lessons each with a craft to put up at home or give as a gift, along with music and hot chocolate. Attendance will be counted as a completed lesson.
I do understand that some will not be comfortable with the in-person lesson so there will be a home lesson for those who choose not to attend.
Grade 3 students are invited to participate in the Nativity Play with their in-class friends on Sunday, Dec. 12 with the 1:00 or 3:00 class. They will practice during class time on Nov. 21st and Dec. 5th. If your child is interested please let me know.
Grade 6 students will have a Reconciliation Service Monday, Nov. 22 from 5:00-6:30. Your 6th graders are welcome to attend. Please let me know if you plan to come.
I look forward to seeing your superhero projects!
I wish you a Thanksgiving filled with many blessings!
