FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
Introducing the St. Isidore Parish Stewardship Drive “Grateful Discipleship.”
Beloved Parishioners,
I address you to introduce our Stewardship drive “Grateful Discipleship” here in St. Isidore Parish. You are a grateful disciple! Are you not?
“Grateful Discipleship” is about sacrifice. Every genuine act of giving is sacrificial. In the manner of Christ’s own sacrifice for our salvation, we too are called to learn to make sacrifices - giving of our time, talents, and treasures for the good of others and for the service of God. St. Isidore Parish is only 10 months young. We need this kind of sacrificial spirit where all of us, big and small, rich and poor, old and young, male and female, each according to the measure of grace and blessings will be willing and ready to contribute to build up our parish for the glory of God and the good of all of us.
Think of the many parishioners who already are making such sacrifices so that our parish can continue to flourish. God bless them! No sacrifice is too big or too small. Big or small, together they make a positive impact on all of us.
Ask yourself: what (more) can I do to help or assist in the work of God here in our parish. Think. Pray. Listen. And the Holy Spirit will help you know how you can contribute. Your sacrifice for the good of our parish may hurt you somehow momentarily, but it will bring you and us God’s blessing.
Let us all love to be and remain “Grateful Disciple” by getting more involved in the life of our Parish. This Renewal of Commitments is important for our Parish community. In this way, together we experience the joy of mutual support and generosity. Whether you can offer one hour or several hours each day, week, or month, there is certainly a need to be filled. Whatever your talent - painting a wall, pulling some weeds, teaching a religious education class, assisting at mass - the need is there and the joy of contributing and the sense of community is so uplifting.
As your pastor, I encourage every parishioner and every family to take a careful look at our Commitment Form and make prayerful commitment in preparation for our Commitment Weekend, December 18, 2021. Who is not grateful to God? And when we are grateful, we give back! In God’s name, may we never lack by giving, by making any needed sacrifice for the good of our parish. Amen!
God love you! God bless you!
Fr. JT
