ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS ON DEATH & DYING - The diocese has put together an easy to navigate and comprehensive look at end-of-life issues. Go to dio.org/funeral for questions like: Why should I pre-plan my funeral? If my loved one is dying, what should I do? Why must I insist on Catholic funeral rites? Why should I pray for the dead? Why should I insist upon being buried in a Catholic cemetery? Also covered is the issue of cremation, among other topics. As the month of November is dedicated to praying for the dead, now is a good time to learn more about dying and death from our Catholic faith perspective.
SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILIES! - This year for the Christmas season during the month of November, Saint Elizabeth Catholic School and Parish will be collecting the following items in support of Billie’s Kids.

3rd grade - playdough

6th, 7th & 8th - playing cards, children board games, card games
We encourage you to purchase the item at your specific grade level, however we welcome any items on the list. Please bring purchased items to school, bring to the parish office or to church.
We will be collecting items until November 29th. Thank you!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR - Ladies Sodality meets on Tuesday, November 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the Harmony Room. Election of officers is on the agenda, so please try to attend!
THE LONGEST NIGHT: LUMINARY WALK - Mark your calendars and join us! Even on the “longest night” of the year, Jesus Christ comes into the world to be our true light. Sunday, December 19 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., bring a friend and walk through Christmas luminaries here at St. Elizabeth. Pick up a luminary bag at the parish office or in the church vestibule, decorate it (color or paint the outside, or cut patterns) to reflect the Christmas season, and return it by December 17. Then, invite friends, family, and neighbors to come on December 19 – Bring your own thermos of hot chocolate, walk through and enjoy the luminaries (free will offering welcome.) Then stay with us for Adoration, Vespers, and Benediction from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the church.
DO NOT FORGET... - If you lost a loved one last year and we made a candle for them, please be sure to pick it up in the gathering space at church. There are still a number of them that have not been retrieved. Thank you!
ADORATION TO DEFEAT ABORTION – We will host an additional Holy Hour from 3-4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, in conjunction with Catholic Vote’s “Adoration to Defeat Abortion” effort that day. We’ll pray that day as the Supreme Court hears the upcoming historic case over the right of states to protect mothers and unborn life. Please join us if you can!
SATURDAY MORNING ROSARY – Join parishioners from St. Elizabeth & nearby parishes for the praying of the Holy Rosary for an end to abortion outside the abortion facility in downtown Granite City from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday mornings.
HELP WANTED!- Our Preschool currently has an opening for a part-time preschool aide, working approximately 10-17 hours a week. If you or someone you know is interested, please have them reach out to Principal Williams at
