Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Psalm 150, NIV
Singers in the Kid’s Praise Team recited this Psalm on Sabbath, and it beautifully captured the spirit of the service with the installation of Pastor Linda Biswas as our new Children and Family Pastor! From the praise and worship to the scripture reading and the choir’s special music—our children did it all!
As part of the installation, Pastor Tara asked the children, “Will you work with and support Pastor Linda?” The children enthusiastically said, “We will!” Our pastoral team and children then laid hands on Pastor Linda as Pastor Tara prayed a prayer of dedication over Pastor Linda as she begins her role as Children and Family Pastor at our church.
To end the service, Pastor Linda gave an interactive sermon from 1 Samuel 3, pulling children and adults from the congregation to play the parts of Samuel, Eli, and God! Her message: God is always calling us, and He can use anyone, no matter their age, to do His work.
On Friday night, November 12, about 250 teens from various churches came together for a collective worship experience called the “Valley Vespers” at the Loma Linda Korean Church. Pastor Gatra shared about the value of community and the gift of vulnerability. Join us for our next worship on January 14, 2022 at La Sierra University Church.
Light Up Grand Terrace is back this year on December 2 from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm in our parking lot. Our children’s choir is scheduled to sing for the program! There will also be a petting zoo and other fun activities. The Christmas tree lighting is at 6:30 pm.
If you are 55+ and have wanted to learn how to play pickleball, Ernie Medina will be providing a first-time introductory class on Sunday, December 5 at 9:00 am. The class is limited to 12 people, so please contact Ernie (emedinajr07@gmail.com) if you’re interested.
