Good Afternoon 1st Grade Families!
We hope you are all doing well! It was great to see everyone at conferences. We learned so much this week!
Reading/Phonics: We continued working on blends and digraphs. Students are getting better at those so keep practicing at home. We also worked in small groups with our phonics program called 95%. This gives targeted instruction based on what each student needs to be a successful reader.
Math: We worked on subtraction and more story problems. Students got to practice with each other playing the egg carton game or top it card game.
Social Studies: We talked about rules and why it is important to have rules in a community and in school. Students did a great job sharing rules they have at home as well as within the community.
Next week we will have a short week due to Thanksgiving! We have some fun Thanksgiving activities planned.
We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Luers and Mrs. M.
