Dear Holy Cross Families, December 8, 2017
What a wonderful feast day today! Mass this morning was beautiful and the perfect way to begin our day. How great that so many of you were able to join us at Immaculate Conception. We are always grateful to have opportunities for the Holy Cross community to worship together!
I do have another reason for reaching out to you with this message. In light of what I have observed in the building over the past few weeks, and as a response to requests, I am writing to you today with some policy and procedure reminders about picking up students during the school day and at dismissal time. As you read through the reminders, please keep in mind that the Holy Cross policies and procedures are not arbitrary, but were thoughtfully written with our students’ safety and well being in mind. Following policies and procedures helps teachers and students in more ways than you may at first realize. Here are the reminders:
- Preschool student pick up is outside the northeast entrance. Parents/caregivers should pull up to the curb in the bus circle, park, and watch for your student to be dismissed to you.
- Parents/caregivers picking up students during the school day should send a note (email or hand written) to the teacher, or call the office to have the teacher notified. When arriving at school to pick up your student, please stop in at the office. A staff person will go to the classroom to get your student for you.
- At dismissal time, if you are waiting in the building for your student, please wait in the hallway near the office, not outside the classroom door. Seeing people waiting outside the classrooms is quite a distraction for our students who need to focus on end of the day instructions and routines.
Thank you all for your mindfulness about these policies and for your continued support of Holy Cross Catholic School. When we work together, we are stronger!
Peace be with you all,
Constance L. Krocak, Ed.D.
