Some ideas for you.....
❤️Continue working on the pink sheet with the sight words your child is currently on.
❤️Read as much as you can is THE BEST way to become a better reader.
❤️Get out the mini white decodable readers as much as possible and have your child read to you.
❤️Practice addition and subtraction flash cards at home with your child.
❤️Use any of the following language with your child:
"is this a big deal or little deal"
"Check your tone and try that again."
"I notice that you look upset, do you need help"
giving choices when your child is refusing or not wanting to do something: "Would you like to take a bath now or in 5 minutes, those are your two choices"
"Are you being a problem solver or a problem maker?"
use first, then: "First we need to read for 10 minutes, then you can play."
These are just a few things we use at school to help children solve their own problems, help them find the words to use to explain what they need/want, and give them a little control when appropriate.
❤️Enjoy some time laughing and relaxing with family over the holidays! This year has been hard, harder than even the past few. Our world can seem like it is spiraling out of control at times. Don't forget to take the time you need for yourself and your family. We pray for each and every one of you that your are filled with God's peace and grace. That he protects your families and he fills you with joy!
We are SO VERY thankful for you!
