I remember the day! It was February 2, 2020, when an important email titled "Vision Capital Update" hit our email inbox and generated a lot of excitement within the congregation. As one may recall, the excitement was generated by long-awaited anticipation of the unveiling of plans for the Vision Capital Campaign scheduled for March 14, 2020, during the Church Business Meeting. But, alas, the pandemic hits and the business meeting had to be postponed until May 15, 2021. Sounds familiar? Of course. The book of Ezra tells us about a similar delay in rebuilding the temple. So one may ask, "How much have we received in contributions? What is the current status of the project? What can we anticipate in the next few months?"
How much have we received in contributions?
As of September 30, 2021, we have received over $614K in contributions toward the Vision Capital Campaign. We are grateful for the support and generosity of our faithful congregation toward this project.
What is the current status of the project?
The construction for the Elias Community Center started on November 2nd, and a permit has been issued by the City of Grand Terrace for the kitchen project.
What can we anticipate in the next few months?
We can anticipate real progress on the Elias Community Center and the kitchen projects in the next few months. We will continue to provide updates through the newsletter.
We are in need of your prayers and financial support to complete the Vision Capital Campaign Project. We believe the same God who led Ezra and the Jews to complete the rebuilding of the temple will also lead us in the completion of the Elias Community Center and the kitchen project.

It's a blessing to give back! Last Sabbath, our youth and volunteers visited more than 50 families, bringing treats and lots of smiles. The team met in the fellowship hall to pack pumpkin pie and write cards before heading out on their visits. The recipients were moved by this act of love. "It was a happy surprise, gave me the courage and a desire to be of help also," said Deanna Glindmeyer, a member of our church and recipient of the Thanksgiving treat and card. "Good to see the love and service the youth have for the Lord." We're thankful for all who participated!
