Dear Our Lady of Ransom Family:
Only rarely and for special occasions will we send out a parish-wide email outside of Fridays - and this is one of those days! This week, it seems that our Annual Stewardship Report inspired many of you. As a result we have another matching gift challenge.
Recently, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has been considered "Giving Tuesday," where Americans are encouraged to make charitable contributions. To spur our community to action, one of our parishioners wants to make a $10,000 matching gift to our Evangelization Fund. The catch is, we need to raise that money between now and Giving Tuesday next week. That means, if you donate to the Evangelization Fund between now and Tuesday your $10 becomes $20, $50 becomes $100, $500 becomes $1000. If you remember, we had a similar offer several months ago to fund our Ransom Responds social outreach. The condition here is the same - we only get the full amount of this gift if our parish raises $10,000.
As you know, our Evangelization Fund is a restricted fund, meaning 100% of the money stays at Our Lady of Ransom and can only be used for the stated purpose. This money won't be used for utility costs or to pay the diocese; all of it will directly support our efforts at evangelization, faith formation and disciple-making. Most of our non-liturgical ministries are supported by this fund.
I pray that you and you families make this Thanksgiving more than a day, but rather a life-time prayer of gratitude. I hope to see you at our 9a Mass tomorrow.
He is Risen!
Fr. Matt Bozovsky
