Dear St. Philip's parishioners and friends,
I pray you have a happy, healthy Thanksgiving Day. I look forward to worshiping with many of you and thanking the Lord at Mass at 9:00am this morning. The word "Eucharist" means "thanksgiving," and we are blessed to be able to praise the Father in the way that Jesus gave us, united to the offering of himself to his Father at Mass.
I am grateful for our Loving Father's protection and help at St. Philip's. God is good, and he reveals his goodness in new ways each and every day. I am grateful for you, our parishioners, who choose to share your faith and life with this community of faith. I am grateful for our generous, hard-working staff and volunteers. We are so truly blessed and have many reasons to offer thanks to God.
We hear in Philippians 4:6, "Be anxious about nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
He most certainly hears and blesses us. I pray you and your families have a blessed day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
In Christ,
Fr. Lewis
