Sunday Readings:
Jeremiah 33:14–16 I will raise up for David a just shoot.
Psalm 25 “To you, O Lord, I lift my soul.”
1 Thessalonians May the Lord make you abound in love. 3:12—4:2
Luke 21:25–28, 34–36 Be vigilant at all times.
Today’s readings focus on two comings of Jesus: as the fulfillment of God’s promise to the Chosen People and as judge at the end of time. The prophet Jeremiah and the apostle Paul offer words of hope and encouragement to their people as they anticipate these events. In the meantime, Paul advises the Thessalonians that they should act even more out of love for one another in the meantime. May these words serve to prepare us as well during this holy season of expectation. ~ from Pastoral Patterns, fall 2021
Lecturas dominicales:
