THIS WEEK:
Christmas is upon us & we are bubbling with excitement! We have been coloring & cutting out Christmas bulbs for our tree, all of our stockings are hung by our chimney & we have been practicing hard for the concert! Yes, Christmas will be here before you know it!
We have finished learning the Tucker Signs for the sounds of the alphabet! Tucker Signs is a great way for the whole body learners to experience the alphabet sounds! Next we will be concentrating on writing the letters while we go through the alphabet again! We have started the Handwriting without Tears curriculum! The kids are learning about lines & starting our letters from the top!
Today, Jabara the camel came to visit us! What a fun treat for the kids! Pretty sure they didn’t even notice it was cold out! A huge THANK YOU to Samantha’s Grandma for helping arrange this!
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Our Christmas Program is THIS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13th. The program will be held at the Washington Community Theatre! There will be a prelude with children showing off their musical talents at 6:30.
The program starts at 7pm! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE…have your children back stage at 6:45. This gives us just a little time to get the kids lined up in order & ready to go!
THEMED THURSDAYS: During the month of November we will be having THEME THURSDAY’S school wide!! This is a fun way to celebrate together! Here are the themes:
Thursday, December 14: Deck the Halls—Dress up like your favorite Christmas decoration OR song!

COLD WEATHER: REMEMBER: The weather is getting colder! We go outside everyday, at least 1 time a day! The only way we do not go outside is if the wind chill is below 15 degrees! SO, please send warm coats, hats & gloves for your children to wear! Make sure they are labeled with names somehow! Thank you!
ABSENCES: If your child is going to be late or absent for any reason, PLEASE let the office know! The number to the office is 319-653-3631. If no one answers, please leave a message! We do worry about your children when they are not at school!
WATER BOTTLES: PLEASE, PLEASE send your child’s water bottle back with them on Monday!
SNACK: Evie Courtney was the Snack-A-Nator this week. The kids LOVED the clementines & peeled them all by themselves! What a great fine motor skill! THANK YOU for bringing the delicious snack. Next week, Emmanuel Atilano will be the Snack-A-Nator.
