Greetings Church Friends and Family,
I believe that eternal glory belongs to God alone. In the NKJV of the Bible, the Lord’s Prayer end with the words, “…For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Unfortunately, these words disappear in several newer translations, as the doxology does not feature in the Greek manuscripts used for the critical text of our modern translations. Some have argued that the doxology should be included since it is found in other Greek manuscripts, such as the Textus Receptus and even the Latin Didache. Well, I’m no Scholar, BUT before I go off on a tangent about the various translations, etc., allow me to get back to the point I was trying to make.
I love those words, and it is rather unfortunate that it is not seen in most translations because it emphasizes the fact that kingship, power, and glory belong to God forever. If you, on the daily endeavor to first seek God’s kingdom (See Matthew 6:33), that he will give you all the “other” things with it. His power is inexhaustible and always at your disposal, and His glory should be reflected by you in such a way that everyone around you will see it.
God’s inner glory is part of his being. It is not something given to Him. Even if no one ever glorified, honored, or believed Him, He would still be the glorious God that He is. It is an inner glory; it is who He is. It is the glory that is part of God’s character. It is the revelation and combination of all his qualities.
To glorify someone technically means to recognize that person as “lord.” Is God already the Lord of your life? Do you give Him the honor and glory that belongs to Him?
As we kick off the Christmas Season, let us think about this, and keep it in the back of our minds, that it is this God, who sent His one and only Son, to come to this earth to bring us hope and salvation for us to partake of and live through His Glory. To Him be the glory.
“33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
…
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.” Rom 11:33, 36, NIV

Sermon this week by Pr. Eugene: “To be Used by God”
Scripture: Philippians 4:10-23
In our series, Joy for the Journey, we now look at the model set for us, to be generous with our resources and focus on Kingdom advancement. As Paul concludes the letter we are drawn back to its introduction and on the focus of being a people full of grace.
We are called to be the church that God uses. For the Advancement of His Kingdom.
“13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
We will have our regular potluck (1st and 3rd Sabbaths of the month) after the service. Please consider joining us.
Why a Background Check?
“Church should be a safe place to bring our children. Everyone involved in work with children who are minors must meet all Church and legal standards and requirements” (Church Manual, Edition 18, pp. 168-169).
Who Has to do It?
As part of this effort, those over 18 who are voted to serve within our churches or organizations, and those who are employed by the church and working with children and youth, are asked to complete a criminal background check (FB 20) and child protection training through Sterling Volunteers. This should be completed every three years.
100% Compliance Expected.
LINKS:
Thank you to those who have jumped on getting this done, this past week. We ask that you please complete the training, and submit to the background check ASAP. Our date for compliance is currently Dec. 18.
Yes, we have several prayer groups that meet during the week, but some have expressed the need to be able to communicate prayer requests to bring before the Lord during our worship service, and they either do not attend in person at present or do not feel comfortable presenting their requests in person. This may also help us cut sometime during our service if we have the requests ready to go.
Please submit your prayer requests that you want to be prayed over during church service, to Pastor Eugene, 1. Via email (eugene@arlingtonadventist.com) or 2. Via Text Message or WhatsApp. (512.708.0600)
Below, just a couple of quick updates for us locally, and some from the main campus at Arlington for your attention and consideration.
