Dear Walla Walla Catholic School Families,
Advent is well underway, and Christmas is right around the corner! Please remember that Christmas break begins on Wednesday, December 22. Note that, because of the break, there will not be another regular edition of the Weekly News until Thursday, January 6.
For Assumption students, as a special Christmas treat, tomorrow is free pizza day! If you do not normally order pizza for your child and would like for them to have pizza tomorrow, please email Patrick Perez this evening to place your order!
Advent Drives Update!
Thank you to all the students and families who have donated to the Assumption Advent Drive so far! The drive will continue until January 7, and each week has a different theme for the items being donated. To see the details, click here!
At DeSales, the 8th grade food drive has just one day left! Students are encouraged to please bring non-perishable food items to school tomorrow and place them in the donation boxes! All food collected will be donated to the BMAC Food Bank.
Assumption Sweatshirts Have Arrived!
Thank you for your patience in waiting for the Assumption sweatshirts to arrive! They are now here, and they will be distributed to students starting tomorrow!
"A Christmas Story" School Play Recap
The school production of "A Christmas Story" ended with the final showing last weekend. The play was a huge hit with audiences! This was the first school production to be performed on the recently renovated stage along with a brand new lighting system! Thank you so much to everyone who attended and showed support for our talented students in the cast and crew. Also, a big shoutout to Mr. Rohde for his unwavering dedication to this project and to the students!
First Meeting for Knowledge Bowl Team
Yesterday at St. Pat's, DeSales hosted the first ESD 123 Knowledge Bowl meet since February of 2020. Six schools were able to participate, and we had a total of 11 teams competing! For many of our students, this was their first chance to participate in an official meet. All of our teams did so well! They are looking forward to future competitions, and hope to participate in the State Tournament in March!
Irish Jerseys Are Still Available!
We have a surplus of extra varsity basketball jerseys from across the Irish timeline. There are modern jerseys available from the 2010's, but there are also more vintage jerseys as well! These jerseys are available for sale just in time for Christmas! If you or a family member would like to own a little piece of DeSales Fighting Irish basketball history, contact Nick Hazeltine to make an order!
The cost will be:
- $5 per jersey
- $5 per pair of shorts
Save the Date for the Mother/Son Brunch!
January 30, 2022 at St. Patrick, after 9:30 Mass
It is almost time for the WWCS Mother/Son brunch! This is an opportunity for the schools to recognize and appreciate the important role that all mothers have in the formation of our awesome students. Mothers and sons from grades 6-12 are invited to attend! All attendees are welcome to start the day with Sunday Mass at 9:30 AM, with the brunch following Mass. Look for more details coming soon!
Valley Giving Guide - Donation Matching for WWCS!
the "Valley Giving Guide" online donation event continues until December 31! That means that online donations to the Walla Walla Catholic Schools are receiving a 10-15% match from the Blue Mountain Community Foundation! WWCS Holy Hour
Wednesdays at 4:00 PM - St. Patrick Church
The WWCS Wednesday Holy Hour is held every Wednesday at 4:00 PM, at St. Patrick Church. Though this is a Walla Walla Catholic Schools event, it is also open to the community and we hope that you will join us in prayer!
