COVID19 is obviously surging again. There are multiple people in our parish family now with positive cases of COVID, many more who are isolating due to exposures, and as reported previously there was at least one person present on Sunday who was found later to be positive.
While some churches are making the difficult decision to cancel in-person worship services for Christmas Eve, we are going ahead with our in-person services. Though I highly encourage anyone who is uneasy about coming in-person to stay home and tune into the live-streams which can be found on the front page of the website:
stmarksbr.org or on our YouTube channel.
The vestry and I are strongly encouraging everyone who is coming on Friday to wear a mask - the vestry is unanimous on this point.
Knowing that many people in our parish family are canceling or scaling back their Christmas plans, I have moved the 10AM Christmas Day service to Zoom. This will allow those who are alone this Christmas, and who are not venturing out, the opportunity to virtually "be" with other people as we worship together. I'll open up the Zoom Room by 9:45AM, and we can chat and share Christmas greetings with each other. (I wish there was time to get some cinnamon buns out!) The Zoom link, and telephone number and codes are below.
This is not the Christmas that any of us wanted this year, but together, and with God's help we can still have a Merry Christmas
Fr Rick
