Dec. 29, 2021
A shorter than usual edition for this week. I hope and trust you understand.
Mid-week Minute Devotional thought
Greetings Church Friends and Family,
The portion of scripture for our consideration this evening, is Colossians 1:9-14.
“9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Paul here gives a vivid description of what a Christian's life should look like from day today. Through wisdom and insight that we can only get from the Holy Spirit, we have to endeavor to come to a closer understanding of God's will for us so that in the future, we will live to the glory of God by doing only those things that carry his approval.
A young American missionary Karen Watson wrote in a letter to her pastor that read it at her funeral after insurgents killed her in Iraq, she said as Missionaries, a Christian heart:
"Cares more than some think is wise
Risks more than some think is safe
Dreams more than some think is practical
Expects more than some think is possible”
What a beautiful credo for the new year ahead?
So, are you prepared to live out Karen's credo in the year ahead? Pray to God for His knowledge, wisdom, and insight so that you can live to His glory and do what He expects of you, and so progress on the path of sanctification. God undertakes to make His power available to you so that you can persevere patiently in all circumstances (Col. 1:11).
Father, I pray that through the wisdom and insight that Your Spirit gives me, You will reveal Your will to me so that I will live to Your glory and obey Your will in the year ahead. Amen
Folks, may you be blessed as we prepare to usher in a Brand-New Year by God’s grace. I hope and trust I will see some of you at our New Year’s Eve Service, or at least at church on Sabbath. If not, allow me to wish you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR in 2022!!

Your Giving Moment
As 2021 begins to draw to a close, the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lewisville Campus has been reflecting on the blessings of God to our community of faith. The hand of God is clearly evident among His people. We are truly grateful!
During this holiday season, we would like to draw your attention to the need for live-streaming equipment, amongst several needs. (Feel free to talk to Pastor Eugene, Elders Lee, or Greg for information on other areas of need).
As you look to your year-end giving, please consider contributing to this ongoing program as a special “Christmas Offering” on or before December 31, in order to help us finish strong.
Let’s pray for God's spirit to move within us as we prepare our offering. If you would like to make your contribution online
