Hello Parish Family,
Does your mind wander at Mass? Have you ever wondered where the prayers come from or why we do what we do? The more we learn about the Mass, the better we can appreciate it. Beginning January 16th, we will explain a little part of the Mass each week! The tidbits will be called, "The Mass Explained" and info can be found in the bulletin, on our website, via Flocknote, and on our Facebook page, "Holy Family Parish-Shorewood."
Eucharistic Adoration takes place on January 6th & 20th from 5pm-7:30pm.
Children's Adoration is from 5pm-5:30pm.
Confession is offered form 6pm-7pm.
The Respect Life Ministry will meet on Friday, January, 14th in the Parish Hall at 6:15pm. Please enter through Door 5 by the new parish office. There will not be a prayer service following our meeting. All are welcome to attend.
While supplies last Epiphany kits will be available in the narthex. Kits include instructions and chalk to bless your home above the outer door.
The Lamb's Supper Reflection Questions:
*We gave out copies of the Lamb's Supper by Scott Hahn Christmas weekend. There are still copies available in the narthex. Here are a few questions to think about from the study guide as you read the forward of the book:
1. Before reading this book, have you ever connected the Mass with the end times and the book of Revelation? How do you think those three things are related?
2. Is your experience of the Mass closer to that of Fr. Benedict Groeschel or that of the author?
3.What do you think separates a sacrament from a mere "service" of the sort Father Benedict mentions?
4. Have you ever had an experience at Mass that you considered a glimpse or foretaste of heaven? Have you shared that experience with anyone?
